Behind the Scenes w/ David Brown - Opening our 1st #IndoorPlayParks
From Real Estate to Jungle Gyms: My Journey into Indoor Play Parks
Have you ever found yourself at a trampoline park, watching your little ones get overwhelmed by bigger kids? I have. That's what sparked the idea for Indoor Play Parks.
The "Trampoline Park Problem" and a Family Solution
Trampoline parks are everywhere these days. But let's be honest, they aren't always the best experience for younger children. With my own five-year-olds, I noticed they couldn't fully enjoy the activities. Teenagers jumping around made it a bit unsafe and less fun for them.
A Safe Space for Play
That's where Indoor Play Parks comes in! We're not a trampoline park. Think back to the McDonald's playgrounds from the '90s and early 2000s. Remember the tubes, slides, and little windows? We're bringing that concept back, but even better! Our parks are designed for kids 10 and under. There are no height restrictions. So, every child can participate and have a blast.
A Mission Close to Home
My sister has a child with some medical needs. We wanted to create a job where she could care for her child. Also, she can make a living. It’s a family venture with a purpose. I'm hoping to feature our logo right here!
The Jungle Gym: Location One and its Jungle Theme
Our first location is "The Jungle Gym."
A Jungle Adventure Awaits
It's jungle-themed. The name is a play on the jungle gyms we all loved as kids. We'll have a similar hourly model to trampoline parks. Think around $25-$30 for 2 hours, or monthly fees. It will depend on the location's market. But here's the exciting part: each Indoor Play Park will have a different theme!
Columbia, SC: Here We Come!
We are 6-8 weeks away from opening our first location in Columbia, South Carolina, near the Columbia Mall. Our facility is about 5,000 sq ft. The equipment and supplies? They've already arrived from China. We got them here just in time before the tariffs increased. Now, we're waiting for the permit to start drywall and electrical work.
I'll be sharing photos and renderings of the completed playground soon. Stay tuned for updates on our renovation progress. I'll even give you a tour of the facility.
Location, Location, Location: Why This Spot Was Chosen
Choosing the right location is key.
What Makes a Great Spot?
We needed two things: parking and foot traffic. Our location is in the parking lot of Academy Sports at Columbia Mall. We're surrounded by businesses like Sam's Club, Walmart, Ulta, Staples, Chick-fil-A, and McDonald's. There's plenty of traffic in this area. It's the perfect spot for families.
Coming Soon: Signage and Sneak Peeks
We're planning outdoor and road signage for the play park. This will help families find us easily. I'll also share a brief tour inside the facility in an upcoming video. Follow along for updates on the renovation and the economics of the playground.
The Economics of Play: Costs, Savings, and Franchise Potential
Let's talk numbers.
Saving Money
I got quotes to have the playground built here in the US. They were around $150,000-$180,000. But by sourcing the playground material from China, we got it for around $55,000. That's a huge saving!
Safety First
The equipment meets the same safety regulations as US-built equipment. This includes lead paint and child safety requirements.
The Franchise Vision
We're trademarking "Play Parks" and "Jump Gyms." Our goal is to create a franchise opportunity. We want others to open locations throughout the US.
Why Now?
There are already too many trampoline parks. Indoor Play Parks offer something different. It's a unique alternative, especially for younger children.
Theme Park Expansion Ideas
What's next?
Candyland and Beyond
Our next location will be "Indo Parks." It will be Candyland-themed. We're also planning a Donald Duck-themed park with a barn and farm animals.
Unique Experiences Await
Each location will have a unique theme and design. We want to create an experience that kids will love. No copy-and-paste concepts here! While we'll maintain an overall theme, we'll change the atmosphere with each location.
Building Multiple Streams of Income
Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
More Than One Business
I'm not just about one business or real estate flip. I focus on passive income and multiple revenue streams. This includes real estate income and income from various business endeavors.
Delegate to Elevate
Don't try to do everything yourself. Delegate tasks to others. Surround yourself with people who can help you.

What to Expect
I will share the business plan and the economics of the playground. I will also share information on how the franchise opportunity works. You don't need a fancy facility. A 5,000 sq ft empty shell is enough to start.
Conclusion
So, that's the vision for Indoor Play Parks: safe, fun, and unique experiences for kids. Plus, a solid business opportunity for entrepreneurs. It all starts with solving a simple "article": trampoline parks aren't always great for little kids. Stay tuned for more updates!
